Construction and demolition (C&D) waste dreadful impacts increasingly cause public concerns. In line with Malaysian Sustainable Development Goals to achieve better place for living by 2030. One of the criteria is to ensure that environment is well maintain without scrutinizing the development that being planned. Based on Parliament Report 2017, property development and construction contribute around 15-20% for national income.


Besides new development, there is a need on refurbish and re-construct. The construction sector needs to undertake profound reforms to minimize its negative externalities, particularly in the areas of waste generation and resource management, which will ultimately result in a reduction in its environmental impact. With this trend, demolition work will be in place.  Public should be educated on the risk and possibilities with increasing in this trend.


One of the elements that may impacting is wastes generation. Practitioner shall need to be more creative in managing their waste. Improper management may impact harmful to social, economy and environment which later may causing our national goal not realize. From this two-day course   participant will be aware on the risk and possibilities with increasing in this trend. Participants will also become more creative in managing their waste

Ir Dr Norizam bin Ayob is an industry practitioner and having vast experiences in contractor, property developer and utilities companies with more than 15 years. His career started as site supervisor with Contractor Company for 1st shopping mall project in Putrajaya. He then joined Property Developer Company and managed mix development project with value in total for about Rm1 billion value before Malaysia Sewerage Utilities Company in year 2013. He also served as free-lance project management advisor for PMC based company.

His Professional Engineer (P.E) was registered under Civil Engineering competencies and a corporate member for IEM. He is a member for Wastewater Technical Working Group (TWG) and appointed as Adjunct Lecturer/ speaker for UM, UiTM, UTP and few others private university. He also subject matter expert for his company for Planning, Development and Control (PDC). His current portfolio as Sludge Management Head is finding the best solution for managing the STP bi-product towards sustainable environment.

  4. Analyse and prepare related report in clarifying local issue affecting social, state and national impact from the angle of utility and public facilities.

  1. Involves in conceptual, planning, construction and product liberation.

  2. Liaison manager with relevant authorities (Local Authority, Technical Agencies etc.)

  3. Develop the overall project master plan and time frame.

  4. Prepare and present the work progress from the aspect of project limitation, constraint and mitigation required.

  5. Analyzing the project risk by focusing on the critical items/ work.


Noraini Abdul Malek is an industrial practitioner with over than 15 years’ experiences. She has wide knowledge and experiences in Quality & Environment Management System (ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015), scheduled waste management and Total Quality Management (TQM). Certified as professional scheduled waste manager, Cepswam, and trainer for Cepswam competency course also certified as HRDF trainer.

She holds Master Science in Industrial & Technology Management, UKM and Bachelor Degree in CAD/CAM Engineering, University Malaya. Actively conducting public, in-house training and workshop in environmental management & ISO related topic since 2012 as well as public training for CPD hours.
